The Baltimore Weekly Re-Up

The Baltimore Weekly Re-Up

October 1, 2008 by Greg

Wednesday we’ve got folk love in the form of Noble Lake, the Antlers, Small Sur @ the Talking Head and metal-fueled hate courtesy of Unearth @ Sonar.

Thursday you can get your rock with healthy doses of wall-of-sound via Glasvegas, Thrushes, Bad Liquor Pond @ the Ottobar, but not before you catch a spectacular early evening show in the form of WTMD’s First Thursday concert featuring Caleb Stine and the Oranges band @ West Mt Vernon Park (FREE!). Alternatively, the bigger hitting show in town is undoubtedly Tegan & Sara @ Rams Head, if you are so inclined.

Friday sees the birthday of a Baltimore institution, Atomic Books’ 16th Anniversary SPX-plosion featuring a slew of music and bookish goodness including the Closed Caption Comics Bands.  Other options include the Served Dance Party @ the Wind-Up Space, featuring recent Best of Baltimore recipient DJ Adam Gonzo.  The harder crowd will likely bring it to Helios Creed & Chrome, Ratsize @ the Talking Head, and a bit of DC invasion happens in Station North with These United States, US Royalty @ Metro Gallery.

Saturday we get more hardness Biohazard @ Sonar

Sunday brings the big party as TaxLo presents Ratatat, Panther @ Sonar, as well as a TaxLo DJ’ed afterparty.

Fells Point Fun Festival runs all weekend, and is, in fact, fun.  Music is really hit or miss, but there’s lots of excellent arts, crafts, food and drinksies.

Hope to see ya around town!

DJ Sega from Philly is also playing at Served so anyone who wants to dance on Friday night, this is a no brainer.
