This season, sustainable & fashionable go hand in hand.
Case in point: The “I’m Not A Plastic Bag” Bag, by Anya Hindmarch for Sainsbury’s.
In addition to being adorable, the summer’s new it-bag is environmentally friendly. Designed as an alternative to the plastic shopping bag, it is intended to raise awareness and encourage people to make changes in their behavior as consumers- namely, to refuse store-provided plastic bags in favor of bringing their own.
But being so nice to the environment (and cute to boot!) has made the bag extremely popular – the simple (and inexpensive – it cost only £5) cotton bag sold out in an hour in the UK- twice. Limited editions– in other colors– are due for release this summer in the US and Asia.
Reducing your carbon imprint has never looked so chic.
