No Age, High Places, Abe Vigoda @ Floristree

I know this show is rolling through DC too. But you really can’t beat the atmosphere of Floristree; I love RnR but really, Flor steamrolls it as a venue. And this show will hit you like Bruce Lee’s fist. Enjoy that shit in at least one city, maybe 2.

Dropkick Murphys, Mighty Mighty Bosstones @ Merriweather

I love ska. I have no qualms with admitting this. Furthermore, I love artists from all waves and permutations of ska. I do, in fact, love the Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Dicky Barrett. Dropkick are just an added bonus.

Also…Free Movies @ the Pier in Fells Point every Wednesday.  This week: Juno, hosted by the Soundgarden.

It’s Weird Al. Anyone remember that song he had in Transformers the Movie (Animated)? Why the hell were robots dancing anyways? That is always the feeling I have whenever I listen to his music.

This kid cut his teeth supporting Yeah Yeah Yeahs, so you may know him from one of those shows.  Regardless, his twisted, beautiful visions should not be missed lightly.

Jay Reatard @ Sonar

So he’s supposedly some kind of bad-ass guy who likes to hit people. Punk rock, and all that. I think he’s a hack with a shtick that is like Andrew WK except less self-aware and more insecure. In case you want to see what he’s all about though, he launches his tour from Baltimore with this show, and it’s his only area tour stop.
