Congee Congee we likes to Congee.
Admittedly, going to Congee Village on Allen St. was a tip from Dani Byam, and yes, I finally went without her because her job and immune system stood up twice on me. And I will continue to go without her until she can go with. And I’ll pretend like it’s my first time. And I’ll go everyday. Like I’m a Congee Virgin.
This restaurant is an Asian jungle gym of food where you dine in red velvet at a communal royal lazy susan and watch pros order authentically while waiting for your amateur-hour General Tso’s. From 300 dollar family portions of crabs and noodle mountains oh my to a couple dollar order of veggie dumplings or pork bun snack, make love to it.

This place is good. Only had take-out there though b/c it’s around the corner from where i usually stay but should dine in next time.
