Our favorite bluegrassy DC nugget of joy, Junior League is on tour in the west. So, Lissy and the boys promised us little postcards from every spot the spend a day or two in. As recounted by Lissy. Enjoy.
Arrived in LA before the gents- goal: rent the mini-van, visit, flyer the town for show.
AND seek out free lance, editorial up and coming photographer Kristy Campbell (www.KristyCampbell.com) to do some pics of JL for BYT while out West.
Kristy agrees.
We immediately call the handsome Ryan Young to give me and my best friend Maite his own "slice of LA". Ryan, one of my favorite handsome stranger encounters on a plane, made his way into Hollywood's alleys when his brother hit it begin on American Idol (Ace Young, Season 5, google it...) Now Ryan's a strapping music exec in town and agreed to show me the ropes. Kristy came along for the ride with her camera.

Soon enough the gents plane landed and I was off in the minivan down the 405, new LA stud that I am a la Ryan, and we are off to Venice.
Bag your liquor for the beach, see if Kristy can come, and vua-laaaaa - band photo shoot in the sand.
Sun sets.
Loved Hotel Cafe.
The venue has a sectioned off room in the foyer with a piano- the only room you can smoke in (and be a little socially reclusive when you are done talking- perfect) Great sound. It's a charm. Shared a bill with amazing gal named Lex Land. Really stunning music. http://www.myspace.com/lexacousticrock
