Saturday night marked BYT's first entrance into the Los Angeles nightlife scene, fittingly, with a showcase by Washington D.C.'s own crown prince of street art, Mr. Kelly Towles. Kelly's second Los Angeles opening, entitled Sneak Thief, took place at the Loop Pool Space in Silverlake.
I'll let DC Alumni Hayley Hapeman give her take on the shindig. The crucial details (or croosh deets, as Jason Bond Pratt likes to say) are below:
On Saturday, the good people of LA found their way to Kelly Towles' Sneak Thief Show in Silverlake. Getting there was a bitch (getting anywhere in LA, even if you leave at 10 at night, is a bitch) but man was it worth it. The Colt 45’s flowed, and hot-ass hipsters grooved to the sounds of D.A.V.O. while haggling over who wanted what art piece.
Some old DC friends and new LA friends showed up and toasted to Kelly with Colt 45 (or Red Bull and Honest Tea)
Kelly and Tig. Wearing reverse-matching clothes. Kinda cute.
Rule #1: Never run out of Colt 45.
One dude even took his birthday party there and for his collective present his friends bought him one of Towles’ everlasting stickers. My personal favorite was the door installation with the boxer – but what do I know? Either way, the party rocked, and LA was lucky to have Towles grace us with his presence. Turns out LA has culture, after all.
L.A.'s finest
Rule #2: Don't forget about Rule #1.
Tig Notaro showed up out of nowhere, like she seems to be doing a lot of lately. With a t-shirt that says: Crazy Baby-eatin Chicken. Yes.
And yes, if you're starfucking, that is the girl from 24. Mary Lynn Rajskub, aka Chloe O'Brien.

And just a reminder, folks, rule #1: never run out of Colt 45

Mary Lynn Rajskub will forever be the chick who was into "Garfunkling" on FoTC.
i will always remember her as the girl engaged to the gay dude on "veronica's closet" a show known mostly for kirstie alley looking like medusa the witch and nothing else, but that I, for some reason, religiously watched in my early teens.
dan cortese!
i will always prefer her work in Coupon: The Movie.
