Only a few more hours and it will officially be the weekend. Everyone I know seems to be going to Virgin Fest, All Points West, or the beach this weekend. So I say screw ‘em and let’s shop!
I haven’t heard of too many exciting sales or hush-hush shopping events happening over the next few days.
So instead, I have put together a mini-guide of your “must-hit” locations for the weekend.
Start out on U Street and check out the latest vintage selection at Junction. It is usually more hit than miss, with great selections from the 60’s and 70’s mixed in with some awesome designer finds like Yves St. Laurent.
Then walk on over to Shoe Fly for a solid selection of trendy, but totally affordable shoes. If you have small feet, then their limited sale selection will be right up your alley.
By this time you are probably getting thirsty, so drop into St. Ex for a beer or bloody mary. Once you have a nice little buzz, head on over to Pulp to stock up on birthday, anniversary, wedding and any other type of card that you may need.
Next, it is time for a location change. Off to Dupont to do some more second hand shopping at Secondi. Their clothes are less vintage and more trendy (for lack of a better word). I found a pair of Diesel jeans there a few years ago that are still my favorites. They also have a good selection of accessories and bags.
After, walk up Connecticut to the Lucky Brand Jeans. Their prices usually make my wallet hurt, but their t-shirts are some of the best around. They also have a killer belt selection and fun hoodies.
Final stop, Veritas for some wine and cheese to help ease the pain of any damage you did on your bank account.
Then go home, shower, throw on your new clothes, and head over to H Street for RnR Hotel’s anniversary and the BYT’s Dance Party 2000.
And as always, if I missed something or you have better suggestions, now is the time to tell me.
bloodys and shopping… that sounds amazing! Then wine and aperitivo. Grrrl, can we go tomorrow?
