Weekend Shopping Guide

Weekend Shopping Guide

There is a ton happening around DC this weekend, and fashion has not been left off of the agenda.  Unfortunately, this cold of mine is leaving me a bit loopy, a bit foggy and a bit whiney.  So let’s just skip the formalities and get straight to the good stuff.

  • Here’s an excuse to throw on a pair of jeans and call it a night (bonus points for rocking a canadian tuxedo).  This Friday from 9:30pm-midnight the House of Sweden is throwing After Dark in Denim—an after-party for the Nudie Jeans runway show. DJ’s will be on the rooftop lounge and Swedish band Division of Laura will be playing. Denim attire is required, tickets are $25 and it’s a cash bar (sigh).
  • The economy sucks, but Caramel still loves you.  That is why this weekend they are hosting not one, but two budget-minded trunk shows.  First off is the Ping Ping Bling Trunk Show with jewelry designer Joanna Crain on Friday from 5pm to 8pm.
  • Then on Saturday from 11am to 6pm Caramel is hosting the Even Keel trunk show with fashionable yoga apparel made with a soft sustainable blend of bamboo and organic cotton.  Sounds cozy to me…
  • You can also channel your inner Serena van der Woodsen and head over to moojoo ken to scoop up something from their new line of silk scarves.  They are oh-so-pretty, sorta like Serena.
  • And last of all, if you are not quite sure how to dress in the District, the Corcoran has an event for you.  On October 30 at 6:30pm they will be hosting Edward Allan, Nordstrom’s east coast fashion coordinator, who will be discussing top fashion trends and how to incorporate them into the lives of busy Washingtonians. I know it is a month away, but it’s sure to sell out… so get your tickets now. I’m hoping he mentions something about an alternative to blue shirts and khaki pants (scusi, that was the cold medicine talking).

I know there’s more, so now’s time to share the love.
