Welcome to the weekend. If you read Best Weekend Bets, you know there is a ton happening around DC. And since everyone likes options, I have a few more things for you.
- If you’re in the mood to check out something different, head over to The Washington Design Center at 300 D Street, SW for their Fall Design House. Eight local interior designers are showcasing rooms inspired by haute fashion. The showcase runs through Dec. 13. Hours are Mon.-Fri, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sat., 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
- The Lululemon store officially opens today in Logan Circle where you can snag cool, comfy yoga gear. They are having events all weekend long, including yoga on Saturday morning, so check outtheir website to see what tickles your fancy.
- And I am just throwing this one out there… go check out the Gap this weekend. I would say that at least half of their store is on sale. And their clothes for fall are not what you’d expect. It’s still the Gap, so you aren’t going to find super trendy items, but that is what Forever 21 is for. Gap is for comfy jeans, great solid sweaters and easy, classic fashion.
- And since it is supposed to rain, rain, rain the next few days, here are a few websites you should check out for some good sales.
- Newport-news.com
- No, I am not joking. Yes, some of their clothes look like what your 5th grade math teacher used to wear. But they have some really great fall shoes, for really cheap. I am talking $10 ballet flats and $20 chunky heels for fall.
- Revolveclothing.com
- Do you need a pair of jeans? Aside from carrying the latest men’s and women’s styles, Revolve carries a slew of jeans from more than 30 different brands, including Anouk, Good Society and Hudson. Plus, they have free shipping. So if you don’t like the fit… send it back.
- TopShop.com
- And last, but most certainly not least, London fashion staple TopShop has launched their US online store. While its got a lot going on, it’s also stocked full of the fab clothing that we used to only be able to order from the UK. Good by crappy exchange rate!
What else? What else? What else?
Live it up, shop it up and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do. Or if you do… at least take lots of pictures!
(and if you ever know about anything you want listed, send it my way and I’ll be sure to include it.)
Is it so much to ask for a few shopping hints for the fellas?
September 26, 2008 at 11:58 amPatrick - I know, I know… I try to get info for the guys in there too! Seriously, check out the Gap. If you need some new shoes go to Carbon in Woodley Park. Kevin definitely know’s what is up with men’s shoes. If you want some tips on good fall looks for men, check out http://www.moderndestiny.com. He is always throwing great finds for men up there.
