this week all the fashion bloggers came back from HOLIDAY VACAY. behold:
COACD’s “25 faces of 2007″: their year-end model round-up.
i’m with style bubble on this one - the only way i can handle neon for another entire summer is if it’s done LADYLIKE and FLORAL. these doc martens make me cringe…
10 questions for this week’s episode of project runway. (at fashionista.)
style.com has a 60+ product BEAUTY GUIDE for ’starting over’ in 08. i’m such a sucker for these things.
american apparel’s ‘coming soon’ category features three-tone footless socks that are SUSPICIOUSLY similar to the one’s on Prada’s fall07 runway; the next day they MYSTERIOUSLY DISAPPEAR. this, of course, leads me to ask: where the f*ck did my footless socks go? and why did i not save the picture for EVIDENCE?

and since i never put together my own BYT best-of-07 list, here’s a smallish list of things i loved about DC style last year:
STYLEistics (2 AND 3; the launch of listopad and the listopad shop cocktail parties; any patton group party (but oh my, especially the marimekko silver spring opening and the r.nichols/apres peau fete); the start of suzanne d’amato’s trend spotter group and, more recently, her weekly sunday source column; and finally, on a more PERSONAL NOTE, all of the BYT shoots i had the chance to put together or contribute to since the relaunch in may. here’s to more of all of the above in 2008!

January 4, 2008 at 5:21 pmi wanna know how much prada paid to have those horrific shoes featured in just about every fall fashion spread known to (wo)man. my favorite (aka most hated) color combination was ballerina peach and bright neon orange. those shoes were like a bad pop song playing on heavy rotation on every top 40 fm station. guess they thought if they kept shoving them down our throats we might eventually think they were cool — or even pretty. i think it was a social experiment. like the macarena. and i hope to god it never catches on.
