Brightest Young Things

Have some extra cash burning a hole in your pocket? Or just in the mood to spend some money that you don’t have? Well get ready, because this weekend DC is chock-full of sales and events to help you spend, spend, spend.

The 9th Annual Dog Days of Summer sales kicks off this Saturday and Sunday in DC’s MidCity area, which includes U Street, 14th Street, 9th Street, along with P, Q and Church.

In addition to it being DC’s Tax Free Holiday, shops and restaurants will be offering awesome deals. The list is pretty extensive and has some unexpected participants (Cake Love, Boundless Yoga and Chix). So it will be worth your time to take your hangover off of your couch and check it out. Click here to see the full list of participating businesses.

Some highlights:

  • Caramel is hosting two trunk shows at Caramel on Saturday from 10 to 7 with local designers Lara Akinsanya and Liz Matthews.

  • 50% off everything at Lettie Gooch from 11-1 on Saturday PLUS there will be a voter registration drive all day long.

  • Pop is hosting a Closing Party on Saturday night (rumor has it that Sheila, Pop’s owner, brought more clothes in from NYC to make it worth your time).

And to kick off your weekend, check out this two events going on tonight:
