Brightest Young Things

AMAZING PHOTOS BY: Max Cook, A Digital Cure and Aineki Traverso

After last falls wildly popular Tweed Ride, Eric Brewer and his Dandies and Quaintrailles Club put together the natural summer response event: last Saturday's SEERSUCKER SOCIAL @ Hillwood Museum and Gardens.

The day started off with a leisurely bike ride through Rock Creek Park (because if there is one thing Dandies and Quaintrailles love more thank stylish clothes, it is their vintage bikes) and culminated with an afternoon on the lawn feat. games, mint juleps and some of the best looking people in best looking clothes around.

Please make sure to click on Max's WONDERFUL photos to enlarge them and play the game of who's who since they feature everyone from: Matthew Hemerlein to Nicole Aguirre of Worn Magazine (that also has some great photos of the event), Philippa Hughes of Pinkline to Scott from Derringer Friday, gentlemen on Hugh & Crye and more...

yes there are far too many horrible things happening in the world for anyone anywhere to have fun on a Saturday afternoon. Let's pile on the resentful snarky comments and shame these folks back into the mundane and self censored life that is free and safe from public critique! This is America people. Wholesome and humble values devoid of any frivolous activity is what this good country was founded upon. I won't stand for this kind of activity and neither should you! Let's make them feel really bad and embarrassed for what they did with their day!

I always feel better about myself when I slam this kind of activity. Events like this are worthless. Really cool people avoid this stuff and just try to come up with clever posts to discourage others from wasting their time and trying to enjoy life. It's way too short.

you know it's funny, hmm..., i recently heard some of those same african kids asking you to "please stop wasting your time reading and commenting on a silly lifestyle bsite and help us."

problem is, no matter what it is you happen to be doing at any given moment, there is always something more noble you could be doing. and everyone rates their noble causes differently. that's why i say, "why bother? let's drink!"

p.s. i did notice your little winking emoticon. so maybe it was all a joke. in which case i say, "good one, fucko!"

don't these people know that world cup matches were on?!?

hmm had a good point. We should all be watching Sally Struthers infomercials when we aren't actually in Africa working to save the hungry.

I think these people raised money for a non-profit or something so the fun was sort of tied to a noble cause but probably not as noble as it could have been. They did look like they were having some fun and that's self indulgent.

Meanwhile, I was watching the television, surfing the net and waiting for these pictures to post. I have all kinds of witty things saved up to discourage this kind of stuff. Since I'm not really cool and indifferent to it, I'll keep it coming but only after others post nasty comments. It's only fun if others pile on with me! Dont' let me down kids. I know you've got it in you!

Blah, blah, blah.. Who cares if it's "noble" or not? That's what the peace core, etc. is for.. The event was supposed to be fun..and it looks like it was. Cheers!

shame on those denim pantaloon clad rapscallions who sullied
this delightful event!

snobbish tip of the day - pantaloons are not made of denim. If you wish to use language to drop knowledge, I suggest using dungarees to describe jeans.
