Every once in a while, we get invited to a classy cocktail / shopping event and God Knows we can’t say no.
So, Morgan, Page and me (with Haley as moral support) trekked over to 14th and K to Apres Peau (a delightful little gift boutique run by Tina Alster, who aside from being very, very nice is also the owner the most amazing satin swathed posterior we have ever seen. Or photographed.) to celebrate R.Nichols’ new Washington inspired prints and cards and to apparently drink all their champagne.
(We apologize)
Oh, and eat the mini pumpkin pies. Those were DIVINE.
In attendance: Barbara Martin of Patton Group who threw this event together and was looking amazing and glowing while “knocked up”, Rachel from Project Beltway, Kate who interviewed us for DC Modern Luxury in August, Tara and Liberty of Alex Boutique and assorted other “ladies who cocktail”.
So here it is, in all its subtle double fisting, straight-from-work-to-a-party glory:
All photos by Page Billauer.
“…even though they are mid-westerners”?! You’d better clarify that, bub.
November 16, 2007 at 12:17 pmi would kill for that satin swathed ass (and Haley will agree with me).
November 16, 2007 at 12:25 pmUmm JF…google search “Apres Peau” so you can write completely unrelated comments much?
November 16, 2007 at 1:23 pmMorgan looks hot in these pics…. especially standing next to that old broad!
November 16, 2007 at 2:30 pmIs it just me, or is the centerpiece “ladies of BYT” shot an instant classic?
November 16, 2007 at 2:48 pmThere should be one by some other photographer that includes Page as well.
And the lady in red is OUR HERO.
I would also like to say that after this delightful event we spent 25 minutes looking for Morgan’s car and once in it, proceeded to sing “Oh Yoko” on top of our lungs.
Before 9 pm.
This is what happens when you don’t dine on anything BUT mini pumpkin pies and champagne.
I hope we are not banned for life.
November 16, 2007 at 2:55 pmYou shouldn’t drink and drive.
November 16, 2007 at 3:28 pmBeing unable to find my car is a twice daily occurence, I promise.
November 16, 2007 at 4:26 pmI would pay money to see you singing on top of your lungs.
November 16, 2007 at 4:50 pmI hereby solemnly swear that you shall never, ever be banned from any TPG events.
And phew! just glad that I’m not the “old broad” of above (or maybe I am…).
November 16, 2007 at 5:42 pmDr. Tina Alster
this is the same woman who charged my father and i about $4,000 to get rid of hyperpigmentation from another’s botched laser hair removal treatment with her quack potions and lotions which had NO affect on me, we were just so shocked from the burns that we were willing to try anything to get rid of them as soon as possible, she assured us her way was pricey, but would succeed in removing the spots within a year or so
after no results within a year, we found out from other professionals that the burns would naturally go away after a few years
don’t support her business in any fashion
i was sorry for doing so
plus her wares are over-priced for no good reason
see the Candela lights shown here:
http://www.aprespeau.com/products/product.php?id=9
give me a break!
shop at Target or someplace similar and find them for half the price
No googling required - I know the firm well and Anne Willoughby personally. I saw the entire span of work they did for them a month or so ago while judging a design competition.
I only mention “mid-westerners” in regards to a great number of the lower priced products being DC specific - not intended as a jab.
November 17, 2007 at 4:37 pmRE: on top of Svetlana’s lungs:
The operations dude in my old office had a voicemail that said, “I’m sorry I’m not in my desk right now…”
FYI. “So, Morgan, Page and me (with Haley as moral support) trekked over to 14th and K …” should read “So, Morgan, Page and I (with Haley as moral support) trekked over to 14th and K…..”

Willoughby Design Group in Kansas City did all of the design for the shop with a perfect blend of style and restraint. Just from the photos I can see how Anne and her crew would have connected perfectly with the company even though they are mid-westerners.
