Perhaps you slept on buying a winter coat because, well, new outerwear is EXPENSIVE; perhaps you have more coats than one person really needs but you cannot resist a bargain. I won’t tell you which side of the fence I fall on, but I WILL tell you that if outer layers are currently on your wishlist then NOW is the time to act. With snowy days ahead and Spring merchandise on its way in, most-if-not-all of your favorite locally-owned boutiques are featuring wicked markdowns on all things outerwear. Without further delay, I present THE RUNDOWN:

Alex Boutique (1919 Pennsylvania Ave, NW [w.entrance on Eye St.]) is currently offering 60% off storewide - including men’s coats (of which they have many) and women’s outerwear (of which they have less, so get a move on).

Georgetown vintage boutique Annie Creamcheese (3279 M St. NW) is also running a storewide sale that includes all winter toppers: take an additional 10% off sale items (already marked down 20-50%) and buy one regularly priced item and get the second 1/2 off.

Circle Boutique (1736 14th St. NW) is sold OUT of women’s coats but is offering 35-45% markdowns on all men’s outerwear, including pieces by design collective Nom de Guerre.

The District Line (1250 Wisconsin Ave. NW) (all British! all men’s!) is running a 50% off storewide sale; this, of course, includes parkas and winterwear.

Kickballers (3285 1/2 M St. NW), if didn’t know already, sells apparel alongside all those shoes and are currently offering 30-40% off all men’s and women’s winter outerwear.

Lettie Gooch (1911 9th St. NW) is admittedly sold down on outerwear but is offering 25, 50, or 75% on the entire store (with the exception of new arrivals) during this Friday’s “Crazy Quarter Sale” from 5:30-8pm - and I’ve got it on good word that all remaining coats will fall on the more generous end of the markdowns…

All outerwear at Major (1426 Wisconsin Ave., NW) is currently buy one, get one half off.

Meeps Vintage Fashionette (2104 18th St. NW) in Adams Morgan is also running a “buy one, get one half off” sale on the entire store INCLUDING coats but EXCLUDING leather, denim, and accessories.

Muleh (1831 14th St. NW) is offering up to 60% off on selected merchandise, including winter coats (of which they still have “a good amount). I’m fairly certain I can’t afford anything from Muleh even WITH the markdown, but if you can and do please call me afterwards so I can sigh and stare dreamily at your purchases.

Palace 5ive (2216 & 2220 14th St. NW) is running a sale on select merchandise throughout the store, with 40-50% off outerwear and LAYERING PIECES for both men and women.

Redeem (1734 14th St. NW) is also offering markdowns on select merchandise throughout the store (and if you’re unacquainted, please trust me when I tell you that all of their merchandise is highly covetable); the sale includes both women’s jackets and men’s outerwear.

And last (alphabetically) but not least (in our hearts), Capitol Hill’s The Remix (645 Pennsylvania Ave., SE) is running a 20-50% off “Winter Clearance” sale on their collection of vintage toppers.

Crisp Says:

Nana on U St still has some gorgeous and seriously unique winter coats left for women. And like basically everything else in the store, they are considerably marked down.
