No better way to start a Tuesday than with some serious right clicking action.
1. RATATAT: “Shiller”
Once upon a time before Radiohead would give us photo passes and Chuck Brown thought we were cool enough to spend afternoons with, we tried to interview Ratatat. They never wrote back. We still had “Wildcat” be our theme song for 2007. Now they’re back, and because they’re cooler than you, the new single is out ON VINYL ONLY and is actually pretty good, or so all the blogs will tell you.

2. Blitzen Trapper: “Crushing the Wheat”
BYT Loves Blitzen Trapper. Loves it. Sometimes you hear an unreleased song and say “oh, this was obviously unreleased for a reason.” Not the case with “Crushing the Wheat.” It’s a soft tune of theirs, far more in line with “Futures & Folly” than “Miss Spiritual Tramp,” but still brings the fire of their full length. Featured now on the new PDX Pop compilation.

3. Lindsay Lohan, “Bossy”
BYT also (for very different reasons, mind you) loves Lindsay Lohan.
Libby: Have you heard Lindsay’s new song?
Me: I’m Afraid to.
Libby: Its kinda bad.
Me: Will she NEVER learn?
Libby: Uh-oh, listening to it AGAIN.
Exactly.

4. Everybody Was in the French Resistance … Now, “Hey It’s Jimmy Mac”
Eddy Argos from Art Brut (also victim of one of our finest interviews) complains about OTHER people’s attitudes in his side project. William, Finally! A Song About You!

5. Tokyo Police Club “Tesselate” (Tom Campesinos! Remix)
Tokyo Police Club remains the only band in the history of world that had enough balls to do our “Blind Hearing test”. Los Campesinos! remains the only band in the history of world that is so cute it makes me kinda wanna vomit. Merge the two and you get this pretty jazzy remix just in time to bridge the gap between the TPC visit a few weeks back and the Los Campesinos! show this Friday.

6. Fall on Your Sword - Love is the Drug
Freak out disco from Brooklyn.
You will love it against all better judgement.

7. Paul Weller feat. Noel Gallagher, “Echoes Round the Sun”
Best bowl cuts of Britain unite
MP3 Here via Roots Memories
your ‘love is the drug’ has nothing on this old shit
