Transatlantic at DC9 Saturday night was another classic from the People’s Champion. Replete with a hip hop act I didn’t get the name of and the ever photogenic Sir StereoFaith, the kids were dancing again. Big ups to the new addition of VJ Snack Time (formerly VJ J) for providing the awesome video feed, the welcome addition added new kinds of entertainment to an already titillating evening. By the way people, in case you didn’t know, mohawks and fanny packs are back with a vengeance.

i’m not sure what you mean by jaggified…
May 14, 2008 at 1:59 pmYour browser may be rendering them better, but here is the image on flickr:

and now on BYT with IE7:

I’m guessing it has something to do with your restrictions on Flickr (for instance you cant download the images in different sizes), as your photos always look like this but everyone else’s are fine…
May 14, 2008 at 2:22 pmonly looks bad on IE7. fine in firefox/ mac and PC.
but definitely only Dakota’s shots.
just one more reason to love IE …
May 14, 2008 at 2:54 pmMost of our readers use IE. But yes, it sucks at resizing images in the browser.
May 14, 2008 at 2:57 pmpolitely begging to differ - there’s a shift since march, with slightly more firefox users than IE, and the gap is growing in FF’s favor. BYT users are getting better-STRONGER-FFAASSTTEERR :)
May 14, 2008 at 3:11 pmI’m using firefox right now, and I can see what Cale’s talking about…
May 14, 2008 at 3:17 pmFits - where are you getting your stats?
Becca - yeah, I just cranked up Firefox and it is still jaggy, I thought I noticed in the past it did better resizing, but maybe it’s in only certain cases? Or is it a setting? I’m not a FF power user…
May 14, 2008 at 3:39 pmUses FF exclusively at home, has no choice but to use IE at work.
May 14, 2008 at 3:39 pmmy fault, right about Firefox PC. was looking at my pix.
stats are from BYT stats.
2/08 — FF: 41.1%, IE: 42.1%, Safari: 13% …
3/08 — FF: 42.8% , IE: 41.5%, Safari, 12.3% …
4/08 — FF: 43.9%, IE: 39.8%, Safari: 12.8% …
5/08(so far) — FF:43.7%, IE: 40.1, Safari: 13% …
BROWSER WARS!!!!!!!!
May 14, 2008 at 4:09 pmokay, i had no idea this was happening, it all looks fine on my computer, i still have no idea how to fix it, but i don’t think it has anything to do with my restrictions on flickr. it may have something to do with dimensions of the original image as i’m uploading onto flickr… but i’m happy to take any suggestions.
May 14, 2008 at 4:17 pmBUT MORE IMPORTANTLY!!! HOW MUCH is everyone loving the new “recent comments” feature?
a WHOLE lotta lot, it seems.
May 14, 2008 at 4:20 pmSvetlana, I just posted about that in the Black Kids feature! Czech it out.
May 14, 2008 at 4:23 pmI’ll bet you a dollar it has to do with your flickr settings - let people view different sizes like fitsum does (and everyone esle) and lets see if it magically fixes it.
May 14, 2008 at 4:36 pmthis is an awesome discussion of flickr settings and browser minutia, keep it up. and more tuxedos please.
May 14, 2008 at 4:42 pmFits - Jason fudges those stats so he doesn’t have to code for IE.
Web Browsers
1 Internet Explorer 6.0 37.52%
2 Internet Explorer 7.0 24.14%
3 Firefox 2.0 23.31%
Hmmm, so Jason would rather write perl scripts (dude. perl.) to alter the stats than write markup for IE? Finally. Someone who really really hates IE more than I do. btw Cale, I don’t accept your data.
Chachito your data is straight goofy. And in this minutia ought to be plural, you charlatan ass motherfucker.
… in this *case* minutia ..
May 14, 2008 at 5:37 pmBrowser wars my fanny, this is a full on nerd battle.
(Still jaggified on Firefox at home).
May 14, 2008 at 7:42 pmhip hop act is Time Machine…no?
May 15, 2008 at 5:40 am
