By now you all know what is up with Hirshhorn After Hours: you leave work on a Friday, put on something both classy AND a little offbeat (you ARE going to a hearty party at a museum after all), power down to Independence Ave, stand in line to have your bag checked, stand in line to have you name checked, stand in line to have your ID checked, stand in line to buy drink tickets, stand in line to get drinks and then just stand around watching people watching people.
There are always bands, and art and this time around, 3D sunglasses but it can all essentially be summed up in this Andy Williams classic:
Plus a billion Clist missed connections every Monday thereafter.
I still kinda love it though.
And will probably always go.

God loves a cheerful giver.

What were the glasses for? I went to the Portrait Gallery a few weeks ago and checked out the hip-hop exhibit with 3d glasses on and it was awesome. Did everything look like it was like really there?
This event has gotten huge. I wasn't able to get a ticket in time and even if I did.. the line was huge and I wouldn't have wanted to wait in it.
