This was a good one
It’s hosted by Cam Jus and this dude whom I recognized from Major, a streetwear shop on Wisconsin Avenue where I picked up a pair of these. The party format more sound system than your average dance party, with an intensely ADD’d-out playlist. You got beats matched and properly mixed, along with rewinds and these contests that lasted for five seconds where you get $10 or $20 if you can guess the year of a track’s release. The music itself was just as likely to have been downloaded and serratoed as swiped from the parents’ collection of actual honest-to-goodness vinyl.
The crowd was jung and pretty ebony/ivory, like they all went to the same school or something. Some kids — some not all — were insurmountably dance-challenged but didn’t give a shit, and that’s always good to see … sorta.
It really is based on good concept. I came to the party pretty late with low-to-no expectations, and late. it was still pretty packed and people were having alot of fun. it’s not the best of write ups but … the guest dj potential for this is off the wizzle.
