Napoleon is not exactly the type of place one would think would be perfect for a DJ party…..at least I didn’t. Hell, until just the other night I didn’t even know they had a lower level, which is exactly where DJ Anicet (Jean-Baptiste Gllpn), DJ Simi Automatic (Simon Frey), and Kuntrock Kidd were kickin’ back, spinning tunes to a very modest-sized crowd last Thursday.

Without even opening up my backpack, I realized I had forgotten my strobe diffuser…..shit. I figured there was plenty of time so I hopped on my bike and cycle home real quick to get it. When I returned, the crowd had pretty much tripled and the place was packed. That was exactly what I wanted to come back to.

The crowd was mostly 21+ Georgetown undergrad and grad students, so the kiddies were well dressed and well behaved, relatively speaking. No topless girls hopping up on the bar to dance (shoot!), no [jello/oil/chocolate sauce] wrestling in inflatable tubs (dammit!!), and surely no spontaneous lapdancing (aw, hell!!!). But there were three talented DJ’s played a mix of house, kwaito, and hip hop until the wee hours.

** It’s important (and somewhat funny) to note that two guys were getting particularly annoyed at the brightness of my camera strobe. I’m definitely not the type of person to tell random people to fuck off, however I hope the waahhhhmbulance delivered those two sensitive souls home safely.
