Before you launch into the photo bonanza that awaits lets just reminisce about a few choice misty water colored memories from the very wonderful and very sold out NYE we helped throw with Garutachi and DURKL at RNR Hotel: Georgie James turning into a cover band for your prom night 2008, the foam machine, that time I heard “Orbital BeBop” before 10 pm and knew I was going to have to throw my shoes away the next morning as they would fall apart from the dance, the fake mustaches ON EVERYTHING, the DURKL birthday suit, hell, all the suits, the fact that no one (hopefully) has cooties despite all the champagne bottle sharing at midnight, and probably, and definitely much more that my poor ravaged brain cannot remember.
Thank you all for coming out.
Joel was probably the only person able to make any sense of the whole glorious mess, and here are the photos that may help you remember:

Mike, I like your style. We should get together and gang hate on anything and everything that people do to have a good time unless it involves drinking whiskey and being a dick.
January 2, 2008 at 9:56 amAre these catalogue photographs or actual pictures from the event? I see guys with $500 shirts and professional coiffures!
January 2, 2008 at 10:03 am‘wiggers’….white niggers… that’s what you mean right? because black people who dress a certain way are ‘niggers’ and white people who appropriate that style are ‘white niggers’ or ‘wiggers’… it’s as clever as it is racist.
January 2, 2008 at 10:22 amThe above Michael is not me. Since they are clearly trying to be me their comment should be disapproved.
January 2, 2008 at 11:00 ammy post was deleted? my work here is done. goodbye nerds.
January 2, 2008 at 11:14 amgoodbye mike.
January 2, 2008 at 11:20 amWhatever. wigger is not a racist term. its a term for people trying to be something they are not. Whether its applied correctly here is another question, but its not a racist term.
drop the oh so touchy Political Correctness
peace
January 2, 2008 at 11:24 am“wigger is not a racist term”. please.
it’s a combo of ‘white’ and ‘nigger’ and it is exclusively used as a pejorative against white people who appropriate black (i.e. nigger) urban style/lifestyle/lingo. but it’s not a racist term? you are delusional. “poser”…that’s a term for someone trying to be something they are not.
but fine, just label me ‘politically incorrect’ and keep telling yourself ‘wigger’ isn’t a racist term. if it isn’t racist, try using it in front of a black person and see how they react. explain to them what it means and how it’s ‘white’ and ‘nigger’ combined. then defend it as non-racist. god, i’d PAY to watch that.
January 2, 2008 at 11:43 ami use the term wigger in front of my black friend all the time…and guess what?!? he lives in harlem too!!! gasp!!!
January 2, 2008 at 12:09 pmNew Years Resolutions worth keeping:
1) Be less tense when posting comments on articles which have nothing to do with my comment
2) Have more sex to aid in the completion of resolution 1
ta daa!…the world is better
January 2, 2008 at 12:10 pmall you cracker-ass crackers are funny. Ooohhhhh!!!
these pictures make me wish i hadn’t gone to bed at 12:15am. *sigh*
would have been nice to read comments from people who were actually at this party and had fun, like “oh shit, I can’t believe I did that! ha ha”. instead sad cases like mike and his consistently inane, never clever comments end up setting the tone. then we give this crap credence by responding to it, wasting time and energy explaining what should be common sense to most people who aren’t up at quarter to 9 AM waiting to drop snark bombs, giggling to themselves and stroking their baby dicks. people like mike should always get their boneheaded comments banned. seriously: a post about NYE turning into a forum for justifying the word “wigger”?
dan, congratulations on having a black friend. In Harlem no less.
January 2, 2008 at 2:25 pmsexy fitsum is clearly upset.
January 2, 2008 at 2:32 pmI got home at 8am….good lord.
January 2, 2008 at 2:36 pmI’m glad you got a pic of me in my party hat and x-ray specs.
January 2, 2008 at 2:47 pmWow, the Internet k-fed sucks almost as much as the real-life k-fed. Rad.
January 2, 2008 at 3:07 pmthis looks like it was a fun party!!!
January 2, 2008 at 4:49 pm“making clothes for people to look like wiggers from the early 90’s”
is now on a huge banner in our office.
January 2, 2008 at 6:41 pmWow it looks like I missed another great New Year’s party:(
January 3, 2008 at 12:36 amSEXY FITSUM’S COMMENT OWNS THIS THREAD.
January 3, 2008 at 3:03 amI’m going over to the DURKL offices now to check out the new banner…anyone care to join me? I was asleep by 12:01…radical.
January 3, 2008 at 10:42 am(can’t show restraint)
Where are the pictures of Naked Sushi?
January 3, 2008 at 11:31 amI’m still laughing at “stroking their baby dicks”
January 3, 2008 at 1:55 pmThis night was awful! Way too crowded, 20 mins to get a drink and longer to use the facilities. What a waste of my money!!! I left and went to the Cat and had a awesome time! What a mistake to come all the way out there for this pitiful night.

I suppose all your knowledge about clubgoing came to you in the last two days… NYE AKA “Amateur Night” (see also- Haloween & St. Pattys) Is pretty much like you discribed everywhere there’s an open bar to be had. If you’re experience hasn’t led You to understand that I suggest you stay at home next time. The crowd at RnR was there to have a good time, and the music was off the hook. Plenty of people seemed to be able to get a drink just fine…
January 4, 2008 at 12:21 pmDisregard that, I suck cocks.
January 4, 2008 at 4:21 pmTed Leo was there? That is very disappointing.
