In the space that is no longer called The Hosiery, but is STILL hosting parties (443 Eye Street, for future reference), Ryan and the rest of the Gold Leaf kids threw a party featuring art, bands, dancing and me drinking 10 different kinds of BYOB liquor during the evening. Horrible, crippling hangover none-withstanding it was a GREAT TIME. 400+ people showed up and stayed the course of the night (which went on from 7.30 pm for the art till past 3 and the fire alarm incident).
Great space.
Great kids.
Great bad decisions made throughout the night.
To sum up - as gloriously messy as every proper party should be
first up: Ryan's photos who took care of the earlier, slightly less messy part of the evening featuring the art by Juan Tejedor and Adam DeBoer as well as sets by Football and Four Fifty One.

and in true Fitsum mode, he arrived just as BYOB was getting to everyone's head: Ra Ra Rasputin played, Nouveau Riche Boys and Chris Burns DJed, there was a fire alarm scare and I can honestly say I don't remember any of this.

God loves a cheerful giver.

Bad decision on my part to leave early, looks like it turned into an amazing night (and especially since I have a huge crush on the girl in front of the red door above). Nice work Ryan!
If anyone knows who was hanging out in the back Silkscreen Studio (Kristina Bilonick and Nick P's studio), please let me know (planaria@gmail.com). Thanks!
looks like jesse is awesome hit peak awesome
i have huuuuge crush on the boy in the third photo in, middle.
the other photos are grand! great job.
this post is turning into a "missed connections".
amen to that.
Fine I'll play: for the next ten minutes I will crush on the brunette squatting on the floor to pee.
That guy that laura is referring to is Adam DeBoer, one of the artists. He did that awesome large painting of the bathroom scene that was in the main room.
hopefully the first of many. Best spot in d.c. for sure. If only there were like 3 more places like this in th city, then there would be no need for the clubs and artists would actually be paid fairly (amongst other things)
This party was as dramatic and awesome as the series premiere of 90210
Series Premiere!!!
I cannot wait for the next episode.
And that naked girl in Adam's painting is his girlfriend...
