Last Friday night, at a warehouse in Anacostia, the Pink Line Project hosted a night of art-partying dubbed Cherry Blast. Now, I know warehouse parties in DC are common fare, but how many of these parties have been in Anacostia? For the event the Pink Line Project coordinated a shuttle not only from the Anacostia metro (which was someone's SUV, mind you), but a school bus that ran to and from Dupont Circle. Talk about getting organized...
Okay, so I have to mention, apart from the live music, the art, the booze and the awesome digitally projected videos, there were also girls (and one dude) serving as advertisements for Moo Joo Ken (a boutique?), who were all three of them standing around like statues topless, but for latex body paint. A tad risque for the DC nightlife set perhaps, but a welcome, if eyebrow-raising, addition.
God loves a cheerful giver.
