Everyone’s favorite afterhours joint finally got back to old ways last saturday night after a couple of months in DC regz purgatory. From bumpy starts two weeks ago to last saturday’s full-blooded relauncher, if you’re smart and you like it when the party just keeps going and going and going, you’ll follow the graph’s positive slope to this weekend’s happening which holds so much mindbending promise. The couple hundred usual suspects you always see, you’ll see again, behind consoles and decks, on the flo, and at the two bars (like me and parallel me). Though there’s plenty of top-shelf on the roster, I pray you wilderness dwelling heathens pay special attention to the mysterious gentlemen of Version Dub. That’s all that really needs to be said about it.

But back to last saturday’s affair
See top photo. Worth a thousand slurred words. Here are a few more (words): Jen — who, if you knew, you’d know from Club 5 (RIP), Geisha Lounge (RIP, jeez), or Current — was celebrating a birthday. Probably hers. (Funny that these parties coincide with birthdays. I don’t like it. Don’t like it at all) Measax and Docindo were there (as they seem to pretty much be everywhere), as were Sam Burns, ECB’s Juan Zapata and load of highly anticipated guests who I didn’t personally anticipate. Yes, yes, there was that Chromeo/Treasure Fingers one-time at 930’s back bar (Great idea, btw. And about time.) and I hear tell Jukebox The Ghost after partied at Dahlak last saturday also, but really now … there was no better place to barely remember what happened.

yeah, jeff and I were happy to help nomansland since he had jan booked and need a solid venue…. Luckly thanks to our friends Joe L. and Juan we were able to talk with Sam and were able to find a spot to bring Jan who always delivers. But lets not forget many people came out for the talented locals like Sam Burns, Joe L., Juan Z., Navbox etc. who were all really happy to play this party. Special thanks back to Reuben & Nomansland for letting Jeff and I have so much control over the local bookings, venue, etc. Thanks to BYT for this post. Chris and fitsum for the support. Thanks to Sam and Joe of 411 ny! Major respect to those guys. And thanks to all the dancers for coming out and getting funky.

i grew up going to warehouse parties in that same neighborhood… like 15 yrs ago… I never imagined I would see something like that in DC ever again. This venue, the crew, the music and proper soundsystem - it was super dope. no doubt this is the hottest thing going off in the city on an ‘underground’ level… big ups @ the ppl who worked hard to make it happen, and I def can’t wait to go back this weekend!
