This edition of the Hirshhorn After Hours turn out to be a soggy one unfortunately (for the first time, I’m pretty sure), but despite the fact that the rains certainly put a damper on things, the event once again proved why it is one of DC’s most exciting and accessible cultural occasions. Rain or shine, who doesn’t love dancing in the Hirshhorn ring-shaped courtyard?
Replete with live music and video walls, the glowing donut featured a VIP lounge hosted by Philippa Hughes of the Pink Line Project. A pink affair with pink drinks and pink peep marshmellows to go in them, all under the pink light, loungers took in the Spring air and enjoyed a dry place to sit.
Hirshhorn After Hours is a thrice yearly event, look for the next one sometime this Summer.
Please tell me you took more than one pic inside. VIP photos are a bore, granted they’re well shot and have delicious colors.
March 31, 2009 at 2:28 pmactually… when i photograph parties, i go to photograph parties.
if it’s a gallery opening, i photograph galleries, but i certainly don’t have to photograph the galleries at the hirshhorn when i’m there for a party. i could go during normal hours if i wanted to photograph the insides of the hirshhorn.
anyways, the best part of the hirshhorn afterhours is the exterior of the building and the atmosphere outside. so that, i photographed amply.
