The folks over at mnmlife have taken to hosting me at their parties as of late. I can safely say that if you are looking for DC's best Techno/House/Minimal dance party, this is it. This particular type of music has never been my cup of tea (when I think of great dance music, I think of Cut///Copy), but I must say, exposure to this party really has me opening up my tastes.
On Friday night, those of us at The Muse Lounge witnessed the mnmlife crew welcome back tribal/techno luminary Josh Wink, of Philadelphia origins. It was honestly, pretty amazing. To see the way the crowd responded to this guy--as soon as he stepped into the control booth something else took over, and every time he pumped the bass or tweaked the knobs the entirety of the club surged with energy.
If you're into this kind of music, I highly recommend this weekly party to you. Additionally, the strobe lights in the ceiling make for pretty awesome photographs, if it were up to me, I'd utilize them more often. See for yourself, join them next week for Steve Bug (man, these guys have great names).

Glad to see techno getting some love.
Here are the tracks that made Josh Wink teh raveasaurus:
Higher State of Consciousness
Are You There?
Don't Laugh
Don't Laugh still creeps the fuck out of me. Love that track.

DAMN DAKOTES these photos are ILLLLLLLL
nice shots dakota
God that place looks so much better now.
Although I legit miss the grimy stage. There was a breakcore party that deep6 did where they had the entire Hive Records crew come down and the place was shaking so hard, no shit, bits of dust were falling into our drinks.
But I'm really shocked they've managed to turn the place into the Church Revival of DC Techno. Good for mnmlife and 88 and ELM.
Amazing pictures!!!
