Remember the moment in Smash Your Head where he drops in Elton John’s Tiny Dancer and you get chills? The whole album is that moment.
It’s jaw droppingly perfect.
Masterfully melding Kraftwerk, New Order, Faith No More, Pete Townsend, Beastie Boys, Ace of Base, Bowie, Radiohead, Daft Punk with lot’s of rap I don’t know.
Oh, and the best part, it’s pay what you want a la In Rainbows.
Holy Jesus he just mixed in Chicago’s Saturday In The Park and I pooped my underpants.
GO!

June 19, 2008 at 3:43 pmI thought that was Coldplay?
June 19, 2008 at 3:59 pmReally? Are you kidding me? That last ’song’, Play Your Part, Pt. 2, just rules so fucking much that I want to go up to New Jersey and kick your friend’s ass, just because.
I challenge anybody to listen to this album and not bob their head with the music. It’s really fun.
June 19, 2008 at 4:18 pmJeff - see adb’s posting above. Thank you.
June 19, 2008 at 4:37 pmi find it hysterical that the same people that hated all over mash-ups now LOVE this guy. i don’t get it. oh right…because now he mixes in the occasional MIA or pixies so you can keep your cred while still listening to 50 cent.
June 19, 2008 at 4:38 pmi can listen to top 40 radio if i wanted to bob my head. oh wait…that’s pretty much what this is…right.
June 19, 2008 at 5:29 pmwhat is exactly wrong with bobbing your head to music?
June 19, 2008 at 5:35 pmThe work I started months ago is finally culminating here. Good job, me.
June 19, 2008 at 5:37 pmshit be fun. purriod.
Don’t want to debate its artistic merits or lack thereof.
June 19, 2008 at 5:47 pmI dropped trou when he cut in September by Earth Wind & Fire. And I’m with Jeff on the last track. RAUCOUS
June 19, 2008 at 11:49 pmthe amount of effort people put into complaining about this dude all day probably eats up 1% of the American GDP alone. some people like to have fun and some people like to complain.
June 20, 2008 at 10:35 amA-freakin-men Rob. These are the same dumbasses who complained about rap in the early 90s. Remember all those “this shit aint even music, it’s just stealing durrrrrrrr I like Clapton durrrr” dudes? This one’s for them, and for Michael too:

June 20, 2008 at 10:48 amMash-up’s suck. This guy is lame, there’s so many more who are better, namely La Greve Generale.
He does what Girl Tlak does but off the cuff and live:

June 20, 2008 at 1:06 pmthe new album is inspired, but theres something about that first one, Night Ripper, maybe its the theory of diminishing returns. However I will say I appreciate to avoid mash-up cliches that irritate me - namely sped up and chopped vocals, these are used sparingly here and the entire album benefits from it. It’’s pretty great - get on the bandwagon already!

DJs who fuck up perfectly good music by cutting it in half and mixing in something else so you don’t hear the entire song suck.
Remember when we rolled into JVs a couple weeks ago around 3:30 am with my friend from NJ? He actually commented that you played three songs in a row that he liked and I said “Cale’s a good DJ.”
If I forwarded this to him he’d come back from NJ and kick your ass for making him lie about you.
