The song is tight (but a bit too long), and big ups on including some genuine DC spots. But for the record, fuck Lady Gaga. Why is everyone so smitten with that talentless moron? I mean she's just ripping off MIA here. You could make a computer program capable of randomly generating her music (which, I suppose, I could sadly say about a lot of "indie" music these days.....).

HOT!!!! I actually don't mind Lady Gaga as background vocals. I still don't like her, but it works here.

Hip-Hop has been mostly about the production over the last decade (and it factors in here too, for sure). Most songs have featured one line of rapping and 28 lines of sample/autotone/Timbaland. However, Wale looks like he might actually bring a healthy dose of rap back to commercial hip-hop if he really breaks.

So here is a grown up man that still has a great unfulfilled need of attention, and keeps repeating the same bland lines such as his name, what he got, where hes from, and what he needs to have people to look at him..
mmmm.. I think when I was 7 I thought of it already as childish behavior. don't get it, not his music nor his style.

@dan: I wouldn't worry - this is just a mainstream track to attract the masses to Wale and get him some radio play. The rest of the album should feature more classic Wale. It's really brilliant marketing strategy.

I'm not a fan of Lady Gaga either, but in [reluctant] defense of her "talent" - she's got an impressive resume that spans studying at Tisch, burlesque, and songwriting for Fergie, Pussycat Dolls, and Britney. Just saying - she didn't just get plucked from obscurity at a mall because she was cute and isn't quite as talentless as other pop "artists" who don't know how to write or produce.

And at the end of the day, remember what "pop" stands for, kids: popular, which your music, Mr. Indie Musician, is not. Pop music is intrinsically genius in its ability to permeate the masses - you try commanding the attention of a 30,000 person stadium.

vnl said it right. you can't deny the talent with a ghost writing resume like that. she's like the skillz of the pop world, ha. she is still prepackaged as far as the image and style go though, but who isn't these days?.. maybe wale...the gogo will set him apart and bring the real underground of dc up...lady gaga is just a vehicle for him. a vehicle with some nice rims that is. and boobies.

Lady Gaga is talented, as in she has honed the skills of her craft. She's a good mix with Wale in this song and it's pretty well done. It got me curious about the album, which i guess is its purpose.
