Zooey Deschanel and M.Ward, aka She & Him (hot on the heels of some New York shows, no DC shows, and general hype surrounding their surprisingly delightful Volume 1.) stopped by Conan the other night.

To sing "Why do you let me stay here?", which, I guess is the lead single of the album.
(I myself would have voted for "I thought I saw your face today" but then I am a sucker for any song that has the words "play it as it lays" in it. Any book too, for that matter)
But that aside, blogs naturally went bananas over the footage (shocker!) and since I am easily peer pressured into ANYTHING, here it is on BYT as well.

There's a website up for Scarlett Johansson's upcoming album of Tom Waits covers (produced by David Andrew Sitek of TV on the Radio.) There are snippets from each song on the website. I have listened to said snippets. I was quite underwhelmed by what I heard. It seems overproduced and several of the songs sound strikingly similar (alliteration rules!), and ScarJo's voice never reaches above a whisper.
I'm just holding out for that Leelee Sobieski collabo with Aesop Rock and Brian Eno...
