We continue spotlighting NEW as opposed to OLD music this week.
So-Florence and the Machine (not to be confused with Elisabeth and the Catapult, which is totally possible) is cute, British, redheaded and angsty which means that she is basically this year's Kate Nash (especially in the song we're about to see below: "Kiss with a Fist") but not pubescent and with slightly better styling. There are all sorts of European sold out dates and no signs of arrival to the US so we may as well say something now.
Oh, and also-
The shitshow loves her and so do many others (especially women in any way involved with William Alberque's taste), even if at times I agree with that emusic review that said "What's all the fuss about?"

Now, Now William, settle down. Her EP JUST got released on emusic like 10 days a go and is still on pre-order otherwise in the US, and it includes this song as its opener. So-for all intents and purposes, she is new to these shores.

seriously, i'm sorry. that was a total dick comment. i love svetlana, and the timing (the vinyl only ep just came out on i am sound) is perfect.
and, the optimo space remix of dog days is fucking awesome. i listen to it obsessively.
anyone who likes "dog days is over" is a better person than anyone who doesn't. stalin, for instance, never even knew who they were.
ps i didn't know who they were in 2007. i didn't listen to them until june 2008.
