In the past few years there have a been a TON of punk rock cover albums- Punk Goes Pop, Punk Goes 80’s, Punk Goes 90’s, Punk Goes Metal, Punk Goes Acoustic 1 and 2… and now the latest installment of recorded random drunken jam sessions with white boys who think they can rap: Punk Goes Crunk

Covering songs like “California Love” by 2PAC, ” “Still Fly” Big Tymers and “Nothin’ But a “G” Thang” by Dr. Dre, a bunch of pretty well-known hardcore, pop-rock and punk bands pull off some pretty funny shit.

Here’s the official track listing:

1. Put Yo Hood Up (Lil John) - Set Your Goals
2. Got Your Money (Ol’ Dirty Bastard) - Say Anything
3. I Wish (Skee-Lo) - The Secret Handshake
4. Men in Black (Will Smith) - Forever the Sickest Kids
5. California Love (2PAC) - My American Heart
6. I Wanna Love You (Akon) - The Maine
7. Kryptonite (Purple Ribbon All-Stars) - Emanuel
8. The Seed (The Roots) - Person L
9. Still Fly (Big Tymers) -The Devil Wears Prada
10. Umbrella (Rihanna) - All Time Low
11. Notorious Thugs (Notorious BIG) - Scary Kids Scaring Kids
12. Nothin’ But A “G” Thang (Dr. Dre) - The Escape Frame
13. Gin and Juice (Snoop Dogg) - Hot Rod Circuit
14. Hey Ya! (OutKast) - Lorene Drive
15. Tennessee (Arrested Development) - New Found Glory

I probably should have put “punk” instead. Punk’s dead.

Set Your Goals is probably the closest thing to punk on here, but I didn’t name it.

The album compilations are pretty funny though for the most part. I haven’t gotten it yet, but when I do, I will stream it on here and then you all can bash it individually. I particularly really like The Maine’s cover. It actually allows me to put up with that song.

As for crunk? I think everyone involved had to be wasted off their asses to actually release something like this.

wow, there’s seriously one person represented on this thing who was anything to do with crunk, and it’s certainly not Will Smith. What the fuck? I’m also shocked to learn that Hot Rod Circuit still exists.
