Obviously, the hottest ticket in DC tonight is 930 club. Others tried and tried well but as Libby once said: Any other Friday night plans look like a bullshit bologna sandwich next to the club sandwich of a rager taking place at the 930 tonight. The main ingredients: The Presets + Cut Copy between layers of bodies slathered with booze.

We’ve interviewed both bands before (The Presets the last time ailment stopped them from spreading their magic all over DC) and so, we figured we’d rerun these for you so you can all the better prep for tonight’s joyride

also, i may have an extra ticket for a date. get at me.
September 26, 2008 at 10:59 amYesterday you said, “We’re pretty amped about the Black Kids/Virgins show at the Cat this Friday.”
Now you’re telling me that the Black Kids basically amount to a “bullshit bologna sandwich.”
Which is it?
I know it can be difficult to be consistent. Particularly because young things (bright or otherwise) tend to speak in absolutes.
September 26, 2008 at 11:53 amI’m guessing Libby was drunk when she said that.
September 26, 2008 at 12:30 pmmy first foray into the itunes “genuis” playlist is a cut copy one, and its getting me excitedd…..
September 26, 2008 at 1:02 pmAfter the 9:30 Club, head over to DC9’s Liberation Dance Party. Just show your stamp and get in for FREE.
September 26, 2008 at 1:13 pmHad my tickets sitting on my bookshelf for a long long time, tonight’s gonna be fucken aaawesome!
September 26, 2008 at 1:28 pmThat stupid Genius feature didn’t work for me - I get an error everytime I try to launch it - googled it and apparently a lot of people are getting the same thing. Anybody have a workaround?
September 26, 2008 at 2:16 pmI reallllllly want to buy if there are any tickets available at a reasonable price seeing that the last person I talked to about buying wanted 130+/ticket. I’d also offer my dating services if it’d be a fair trade for someone
September 26, 2008 at 3:28 pmcale… everytime i add a new song or ish to the itunes, i have to update the genius…
up at the top, by the “file” tab… click on “store” then pick “genius” from the drop down > “update genius”
September 26, 2008 at 4:16 pmNo - I mean the initial setup the very first time fails. Gives a 4010 error. I’m not the only one having the problem. At first it was thought that the server was just overloaded but it’s been a while now and still happening. Some people suggest deleting PDF’s or dead audio tracks but I don’t care enough about it to try to find the problem in my 160GB library.
September 26, 2008 at 4:22 pmcale, everything i’ve heard is that it’s a large library problem …. i have 80 gigs and i get the 4010 error, and i’ve tried repeatedly at all times a day …. not that i’m expecting genius to provide anything that last.fm doesn’t
September 26, 2008 at 4:43 pmYeah I heard that too but I thought I read somewhere about it happening with smaller libraries too. I don’t even think I’d ever use the feature, was just curious to see it in action.
What I do, and this is sort of OCD I guess, but I have a smart playlist of everything that has a play count of zero, and then I only listen to that, once it is done, I reset everything and do it again. Now granted I’ll deviate and play my top rated playlist from time to time or pull up an individual album but I’d say a good 85% of the time it’s the “Never Played” playlist on shuffle. Since I have 27,000 songs on the iPod it takes about a year to get through it. I’ve been doing this for about 5 years now and haven’t over-played a new release since then. I’ll add a new CD to my iPod but may not get to hear all of it for 6 months, which is ok, cause I have other new ones that I haven’t heard yet from 6 months prior just coming up + stuff from ages ago that I never would think to specifically play.
September 26, 2008 at 4:57 pmoooooooooo, idk…. historically i am anti-itunes as it has mysteriously deleted files on me….
the first time i tried to load one of the genius playlists i accidentally deleted the entire contents of my ipod. that was fun.
so yeah, im not much help.

I wonder how many hopefuls will be outside looking for scalpers.
