The kind men of Beyond (which still happens every Wednesday 6 to 11 @ The Upstairs Lounge) keep sending us the live recordings from their party (which at this point is having some awesome guests passing through on an almost weekly basis) and we are more than happy to run them for your pleasure.

Food is good. $2 kaboobs. Order: 1 Chicken, 2 Lamb, 1 Steak. or whatever and that $8. not bad, you get 2 chunks of meat on a skewer for each with is laid over either Mango Salsa (Chicken), baba ganoush (Lamb), msuhrooms (Steak). $2 beers are pretty awesome as wel, right?

August 13, 2008 at 12:00 pmthis place sucks ass! the dj spinning when we got there sucked in the worst way - lousy song transitions, mismatched tempo, his tuntables kept fucking up, etc…the poor guy sounded like a high schooler goofing off in his room. the crowd was a hodge podge of hipsters, some chick doing her best amy winehouse impersonation, and preppy assholes trying to look cool in a poorly decorated attic. someone’s gonna catch something from eating or drinking @ this place.

This is has to be the best happy hour in the District. The dj’s selected so far have been awesome and the low beer prices barely make sense. I haven’t tried the food but almost everyone there is always eating something. The space is pretty perfect for this event. You know how it is with ‘a good thing’; enjoy this while it lasts.
