this song was made as a protest song. Grooverider is a london DJ that got thrown in jail in dubai for some bullshit, and we had the beat laying around, and it only made sense to give it meaning. he got locked up for having like a little bit of weed, like not even a joint, and he got a four year sentence. they are really strict in dubai and a lot of westerners have been getting locked up, it was only because of the royal family that he got a pardon on ramadan. we did this to bring awareness to the fact that capitalism and the east are a tricky and sometimes violent combination.
this chorus of this song is 'no more rumors' because all these bitches be spreading rumors all the time about the jongg saying we did this or that, like bitch i ain't got no herpes why you gotta be telling all your bike messenger friends that you been sleeping around with it was the jongg, the jongg is clean, just ask the throng.
i got this pontiac once, and there was a tape that came with the car. it was really stupid and has a bunch of dumb demo music like 'welcome to your new car' but it was totally a used car. anyway we chopped that sample up and then made a song based around it. it sounds like it's some kalimba konono shit, but really it's just some dumb old tape.
