To further entice you for the weekend festivities (which, in case you were sleeping under a rock are to involve them opening for the Faint and shutting it down at our awesome afterparty @ Civilian Arts Project) we had the men of the the latest pacific northwest supergroup Jaguar Love (Blood Brothers + Pretty Girls make graves) pull out a sampling of some songs from their new album (out next Tuesday) “Out to Sea”.
Be ready to dance:
highways of gold-
supertramp wurlitzer experiment meets dancefloor freakout meets campfire sing a long. one of the first songs we ever wrote and was completed in just under three hours.
jaguar pirates-
concieved in an attempt to merge greg ginns guitar playing with the nasty synth sounds of early dr dre. lyrics concern the pursuit of personal freedom amongst cultural vagabonds.
my organ sounds like-
written in 100 degree heat under the influence of massively potent homemade rhubarb wine. in hindsight the spirit of this track perfectly personifies the carefree exuberence channeled through the summer of 2007 into the making of “take me to the sea”
