Brightest Young Things

While none of these videos are as maddeningly addictive (or just plain maddening, for that matter) as that Tilly and the Wall monster from last week, they still are pretty cool.

Dean & Britta - You Turn my Head Around
Dean's Book comes out tomorrow.
It is all about him and Britta meeting, going at it behind his wife's back, getting together and staying together.
that aside....This song, is a COMPLETE KILLER. We've played it at Alliance Francaise, and when I heard it live a few weeks back my insides turned into mush.
Plus, there is a nifty Lee Hazelwood tribute in there, and the spring it here, so get your bikes out.
Now.

Santogold - LES Artistes
Just one question: When IS SANTOGOLD COMING TO DC?

Del the Funky Homosapien -Workin It
Del the Funky Homosapien, on the other hand, will be in DC next Sunday and if this spiffy jam is anything to go by, you do want to be there. And buy his new album

Kaki King - Pull me out Alive
Now, Kaki King is a terrific guitar player, and this whole album promises to be filled with non-annoying girl songs like this but for the love of me I cannot get over the fact that her first name is Kaki (which, incidentally, is the singular female conjugation of the Serbian verb known here as "poop").
I snicker like a child.
And there is nothing to snicker about.

speaking of snickering like a child, if you don't love Ungdomskulen as much as we do, you don't love life.
They have a new video out "Modern Drummer" which is sheer glorious madness and which sadly, you have to currently view through stereogum
as no embedding is available through YouTube yet.
wtf?

and finally in lieu of our live pick this week (which was going to be black lips, but you can just google that) here is some DC flavor:

Breadpig.The Band takes Chinatown.
And lives.

God loves a cheerful giver.
