So many videos of pure and sheer insanity busted out onto the internet streets this last week that I don’t even know where to begin. Aside from, of course, arranging them in the ascending order of said insanity.
Justice “DVNO”
Another banger from SO-ME (the folks responsible for the D.A.N.C.E video) spins the light fantastic so fast you should be thrilled that in just a few days you too will be dancing like you’ve never danced before
Evangelicals “Midnight Vignette”
Our favorite Oklahomans deliver a pretty accurate recreation of campy horror movies (squint through the contemporary haircuts and they’ll have you fooled) with some serious bits of shock and violence speckled through. I love them so much it hurts. Plus, the song is a kicker.
+
as a bonus, check out this stream of their tourmates Headlights covering “Skeleton Man”
The Ruby Suns: “Tane Mahuta”
If your particular kind of psychedelia is more often than not compared to Panda Bear and pitchfork compares you to an “ewok party”, what can you possibly do?
Make a video in the woods stuffed with furries and panda bears and….
Nice job kids.
Our Brother the Native: “Younger”
If you go to Our Brother the Native myspace yu will discover that this merry band of mad men is actually just out of high school (and freshly signed to Fat Cat records, home of Mum, Castanettes and…whoever else not) and are obviously either more bored or more brilliant (or quite possibly both) than any “fully developed” adult you’ll ever meet.
Plus, google “ape mask” and see just how inherently disturbing this video it.
but no apes on bikes, stuffed animals in the woods or murderous pseudo-religious man folk can compare to the sheer insanity of those tap dancing Nebraskans also known as “Tilly and the wall”
we present you: “BEAT CONTROL”
the song my friend Rachel (who spends her days computer animating) called “something you HAVE TO HIDE from” and the Stereogum comment board referred to as “the new LaToya Jackson song”, which, lets face it, means its kinda undeniable.
Look forward to the show on the 16th?
so, for good measure, as our “vintage video of the week” I bring you an actual LaToya video (”kick it off boys, its time to get correct”)
Now, seriously HIDE.

DVNO is the most amazing thing ever. I know I say that a lot, but I really mean it this time.
