Dâm-Funk, hailing from the city of Los Angeles, is one of the funkiest human beings on the planet. Asides from being my favorite twitter follow (@damfunk), Dâm is an incredibly talented musician/producer/DJ who has revived interest and attention for the sweet and warm sounds of boogie (slowed down disco) and modern funk (though he claims it never went away!). On Saturday night, he's rolling through D.C. on a mini East Coast tour in support of his recent LP release, TOEACHIZOWN (Stones Throw), and will be bringing with him some records, synths and his incredibly positive VIBE to the Warehouse Loft. I could easily wax on and on about how awesome this dude is and how myself, Future Times and DURKL are excited to be involved with bringing him here to DC, but instead I'll let you check out his lecture from a few weeks ago at the Red Bull Music Academy in London.
