Congratulations!
Best of DC coming together in this little nugget of great news:
In December 2007, Georgie James entered the studio with the challenge of writing and recording a song in just two days. As a part of All Song Considered's "Project Song" challenge, Georgie James produced "Monument," a soothingly simple yet infectious pop track . The challenge: to produce a song influenced by a selected phrase and image, with only two days to write and record. Looking through the supplied photographs and phrases, Laura and John chose the phrase "something joyous" and Phil Toledano's picture of an empty room stacked with books to shape their creative minds. All the while the cameras were rolling, catching the duo's writing process, song development and the ensuing production of "Monument."
The short documentary is Emmy nominated in the category of "New Approaches To News & Documentary Programming: Arts, Lifestyle & Culture."
In the meantime, here are some tour photos (from their national trips) courtesy of Shervin Lainez
be excited for them.
