DC's own DJ AutoRock is back with Mass Appeal, his followup to last years The Assquake LP. Named after his monthly at the R&R Hotel, it's another ridiculously hyper album featuring 150 samples in 70 minutes, expertly chopped up, mashed up, and rearranged into some beat matched goodness. Best part is, you can download the whole thing for free right here. We asked AutoRock to introduce the album:
Hey hey, though I still put in loads of recognizable songs on Mass Appeal, I wanted to throw in more left-field samples on it that aren't usually associated with dance music. Also, I was really interested in getting a lot of layers of samples going, with everything in key. And like the first mix, I wanted to highlight the best moments of my live shows from the last few months. Ultimately, I just wanted to make it as fun as possible.

AutoRock also has a hilarious video for one of the albums highlights, Hotstepper:
Aaaand, mark your calendars, cause he's got a big party to celebrate the new album/new night:
Oh, and if you missed it, here's The Assquake LP.

There is a DJ. His name is AutoRock. He's from DC. He made an album. It is called Mass Appeal. You can download it. And listen to it. We like it. He also has a reocurring dance party at the Rock and Roll Hotel. We like that also.
