Downloads: New Track from The Verve

June 30, 2008 by Cale Send to a Friend Send to a Friend

Britpop superstars The Verve have reunited after many years of lawsuits and drug binges. The new album ‘Forth’ (clever?) is due Aug 19th, with the first single ‘Love Is Noise’ out on the 4th.

Non-album track ‘Mover’ is available for free from their website for on week, you just gotta fork over your email. Not much has changed with their sound, the song is pleasant enough, and apparently it’s about Restless Leg Syndrome.

Have at it:

16 stone by Bush is probably the most influential record of the last 25 years.

Zachary Pennington Says:

I disagree. Clearly the most influential record of the past 25 years was Better Than Ezra’s “Deluxe.”

John Foster Says:

Say what you want but the Verve were a pretty magnificent live act when I saw them at 930. No opener and no lighting effects or any stage nonsense - just cascading sheets of guitar and charisma to spare.

Verve is pretty awesome. My favorite mixtape from ‘96 had a Verve song in between some Everclear and Matchbox 20 bangers.

I used to get cised when i heard Verve back to back with Eagle Eye Cherry on Z104.

Martin Royle Says:

Verve did Storm in Heaven, one of the best psychadelic records of all time….the verve pipe on the other hand, had that one song ‘freshmen’ and had the balls to put an alternate version of ‘freshmen’ on the album, which didn’t even have the sweet drums! i was young, and i was infuriated!

Jon Says:

I saw The Verve at both 9:30’s…and they were great then. But why does this track sound so…BAD?

Wait - let me take some of that back…that band sounds fine if not doing it by the numbers…but Ashcroft sounds like …crap.

i saw the verve pipe cover “strawberry fields forever” at an hfstival and it was actually pretty rad.
