Brightest Young Things

Pit Er Pat are playing Velvet Lounge tonight (along with the also excellent Awesome Color).
You may not be en route to see them as of now, but this is why you should seriously consider it (awesome name aside):

First off check out this photo:

Follow that up with listening to this sweetly messed up post-rock ditty:

Now, Imagine those people in that photo playing that song
(HOPEFULLY while wearing those outfits)

And then... lets talk about what you hear...Hard I know, I had to look it up myself: we've got everything from bobo balaphone, Burmese temple gong, vibraslaps, to some rather old and lovingly worn keyboards, and a twirly girly vocal on top. Its English, I promise it is, but it may as well be spoken in tongues.
It also goes on for almost 7 minutes, making you wish a little you were on something while you were listening to it (I mean, their new album on Thrill Jockey (the label that brought you High Places and Fiery Furnaces too) IS called "High Time" puns intended or unintented) but it is also beautifully basic, especially after you power through the initial build up, like a good old-fashioned lullaby.

Close your eyes.
Play it again.
You do need more psych enjoyment in your life.
So, just do yourself a favor and go.
I just hope they build a tee-pee on stage
