I was reading my Modular email about the new Cut Copy and Presets singles now out/coming out and I was reminded of this fantastic Cut Copy remix of The Presets’ Girl and the Sea. The original is typical 2005 electro fare, but Cut Copy turn it into this soul crushingly beautiful gooey masterpiece. When the that guitar comes in at the 2:20 mark I lose it. Man I love those guys.
It appears on the Presets remix album “Resets”, along side efforts by SMD, Juan Maclean, Van She, Digitalism, and Midnight Juggernauts to name a few. None of which can even touch this.
