I watched Control over the weekend. Read William’s excellent review here:

So in honor of that wonderful film I bring you LCD Soundsystem’s cover of No Love Lost. It has cropped up on one of the many versions of the All My Friends singles (worth snagging for both the Franz Ferdinand and John Cale versions of the title track + the epic Freak Out/Starry Eyes) as well as a split 7″ with Arcade Fire. I think they do a fantastic job of tweaking this early punk gem.

Oh, and here is a clip from Control:
I will not marry any man who will not let me place Ian and/or Curtis somewhere in the name of our son.
Of course, I could be kidding, but it’s a nice thought.
July 1, 2008 at 9:27 amCandice: why would you do that? Ian Curtis was a prick. I just finished reading ‘Touching from a Distance’. It was a great read, and while Joy Division has some great music, I still don’t like him. Of course that was his wife’s writing, so I should probably read a few more books before making my mind up on this one.
I like the name Ian, but I wouldn’t name my kid after this one.
July 1, 2008 at 10:55 amI’ll have to read that, Amanda.
And it may make me change my facetious mind.
July 2, 2008 at 7:49 ami think i’ll have to agree with amanda. i haven’t read touching from a distance but i have literally just finished watching control. if it’s at all accurate then in my opinion ian curtis was a complete and utter cunt.
September 9, 2008 at 8:52 pmyou have not LITERALLY just finished watching anything.
September 9, 2008 at 9:28 pmI have to confess that Ian Curtis McCarter has a pretty nice ring to it….
