Brightest Young Things

previously in this column

After I started this column this past Monday I asked for suggestions for future movies and this one came via Roped, and needless to say it is AMAZING.

In 1967 Jorgen Leth, a Danish poet and general trailblazer, made a 12 minute movie called "The Perfect Human". I am sure a lot of you have already seen it (film schools, elective college classes and all) but if you didn't, you should: a man and a woman, both tagged "the perfect human" are observed in a controlled, blank environment as though they were guinea pigs or an art exhibit or well, animals in the zoo. Unsettling(ly beautiful). Later on Lars von Trier made "The Five Obstructions" featuring 5 different versions of this movie so see those as well, if so inclined.

The column will return on Monday.
Send me an email @ svetlana@brightestyoungthings.com
as to what to feature.
Sky is not even the limit here.

God loves a cheerful giver.
