I just found out some wonderful news today. They’re making a sequel to Baraka. This may be old new but I just found out. Baraka is one of the most mind shatteringly stunning works of art I’ve ever witnessed. Scene after scene of gut wrenching beauty and horror. If you haven’t seen it, don’t watch the clip below, just go get it on DVD (soon to be released on Blu-Ray, I may upgrade just for that) and watch it on a nice TV and sound system. Add some drugs if you want. It will change your life forever. If you have seen it, click play for a reminder on how wonderful this film is:
Students of film should also view the trilogy of predecessors:
Koyaanisqatsi: Life out of Balance
Powaqqatsi: Life in Transformation
Naqoyqatsi: Life as war
(the last one is my favorite)

I actually had bought Baraka on VHS when it came out. lol. Once I started watching it, I couldn’t stop. Amazing footage. I was lured to it even more since they used one of my favorite band’s (DCD) music in the film. Can’t wait!
@Cale, you are right Naqoyqatsi is the most recent. I like it the best.
