If there is a movie that has equally rabid fans AND rabid haters then it is Blade Runner. I personally think its a masterpiece of distopian film making (alongside "Brazil" and "The City of Lost Children"), not to mention one of the most heartbreaking things you'll see ever.

The movie (directed by Ridley Scott who has since disowned and reowned it a million times) features a booming Vangelis Soundtrack, "More Human Than Human" Sean Young, Rutger Hauer and Daryl Hannah (now-there is a Halloween costume just waiting to happen), an almost ideally realized future world that does not seem any less unsettling now and Harrison Ford doing his "everyman" routine in a non routine way.

The notoriously tumultuous shoot, the post-production problems, the numerous "director's cuts", "studio cuts", "producer cuts", "catering manager cuts" later (sometimes I feel they just want you to keep rebuying the same DVD over and over again), we have apparently arrived to the definitive version of it, aptly named "The Final Cut".
And while it will be released on DVD on December 18th (just in time for Christmas Rush!) we get the privilege of being on the first wave of cities to get it on the big screen as well:
Starting today, it starts and exclusive 2 week run at Uptown (aka -the finest movie watching establishment this city has to offer)
The other cities opening today are Seattle, Portland and Salt Lake (Baltimore-you have to wait one more week till November 2nd).
Expect Lines.
God loves a cheerful giver.
holy shit i love PKD.
so who's going and when?
