NOMA Summer Screen Kicks Off Today

NOMA Summer Screen Kicks Off Today

June 10, 2009 by Svetlana

If there is one thing DC loves than it is outdoor movies in the summer. I mean, the Screen on the Green cancellation caused a public outcry of epic proportions and while some of the efforts to bring it back are still underway, lets turn our heads towards the NOMA Summer screen series, which is probably the closest to a proper (if not maybe even better) replacement.
Every Wednesday, right by the NY Ave Metro, for the next month and a half, there will be BBQ, music by Fatback, a giant movie screen and all the films and documentaries about music you love or have been planning on loving forever, but never got a chance to see. This is what your mid-week has been missing.

ALL DETAILS HERE: http://www.nomasummerscreen.com/ but here is a handy schedule to print and use:

No Direction Home
A chronicle of Bob Dylan’s strange evolution between 1961 and 1966—Directed by Martin Scorsese

Rediscovery of a legendary, members-only club in 1940’s Havana, Cuba, as documented through the music and lives of veteran performers (my father cries every time he sees this movie-ed)
