There are many bad things about a summer in DC ( exploding manholes, your ass cheeks stuck to each other within seconds of walking out of your house due to incorrigible humidity and heat, tourists, your ass cheeks stuck to each other within seconds of walking out of your house due to incorribigble humidity and heat….you get the picture).
But an UNDENIABLY GOOD THING about a summer in DC is ALL THE FREE OUTDOOR MOVIES you can take (sadly, somewhat related to your ass cheeks being stuck to each other during them due to incorrigible humidity and heat, but hey you win some you lose some)
ANYHOO, while we await the “Screen on the green” schedule, NOMA has decided to kick things off a little early with Their free Thursdays James Bond Movie Series
The bonanza starts tomorrow (May 8th) and goes on till August 28th! and spans all the shaken-not-stirred classics aside from George Lazenby’s “In her Majesty’s Royal Service” and the David Niven spoof “Casino Royale”, or the “Never say never again” but then…no one is perfect.
It all takes place between on 1st street between N and M NE (seconds away from the Artomatic and our relaunch party location last week) and you can get all your directions here.
Movies start at dusk and pre-screening programs will include: Bond Dancers, The Bond/Oddjob Challenges (I hate games adults! I do! But did I mention nothing is perfect?) and you are encouraged to bring (and I quote: “please bring a blanket, a low lawnchair, your picnic basket and your wonderful, friendly selves.”
