Brightest Young Things

Jukebox the Ghost have kept busy. Since we first interviewed them a year and a half or so a go, they've made awesome videos, toured internationally, moved to Philadelphia, played with Ben Folds and without Ben Folds, faux feuded with These United States, and are back in their home (college) town this weekend playing a show @ RNR hotel with Jenny Owens Young

To get you ready we have some vinyl to give away:

1) UK single , "Hold it In" / "Good Day (Remix)" (buy it here click click)
2) Jukebox the Ghost / Jenny Owen Youngs split 7" (featuring: Ghosts in Empty Houses (Jenny Owen Youngs covering Jukebox the Ghost) Last Person (Jukebox the Ghost covering Jenny Owen Youngs))

Just leave a comment telling us why you want it and well, these records COULD BE all yours. Maybe we'll even throw a ticket in too.

Because vinyl is forever. And who doesn't want to own a part of forever?

I should get it because I'm one of the first people to respond! I'm a huge fan of Jukebox the Ghost; I first heard them when they were on tour with Ben Folds and I bought their album right away. My favorite song is definitely "Good Day," but all of their music brings such a fresh, clean sound.

i should get it because i love vinyl and jukebox the ghost, one of my favorite bands should be part of my record library. i saw them on tour and now i can't stop listening to the cd, now if only i had something of theirs for my record player.

plus i love them and i'll love you if i get some jukebox vinyl.

I was made to own these.

I first heard JTG opening for Ben Folds and proceeded to buy the album and listen to it for about a month straight. I am a conspiracy theorist (for fun, not for actual insanity purposes) but I think Jukebox might trying to be telling us the future (specifically predicting the end of the world).

If i win these, I have a record player and will be able to listen to them backwards to see if there are any hidden messages or if a gate to hell opens when I do it.

I will of course share my findings.

Because Jukebox is the only opener 1) who I was actually glad to hear play and 2) for whom I've ever gotten home from the concert and immediately bought their album.

Because the JtG concert in D.C. a year ago on May 3rd 2008 was my first date with my girlfriend and ever since we've been following them up and down the coast to relive the magic whenever possible. We love their music and the atmosphere of their shows...not to mention the wonderful conversations before and after shows. And I'm determined to convince them to be an integral part of our eventual wedding. Not to forget that Jenny Owens Young is an amazing artist as well and adds an equally unique twist to her Jukebox cover.

Because they thanked me for fueling the crowd's energy at their Dallas show last week.

And because I'm madly in love with them.

And because I'm on their street team.

And because my dad and I collect vinyl.

And because I would give a kidney for it.
Your choice on which kidney.

Because Jukebox the Ghost is the single greatest band ever. I paid full ticket price for a Ben Folds concert to see JtG open, then promptly left for Ben Folds when they were done.

Plus a vinyl anything is way cooler than dry ice.

Because "Let Live And Let Ghosts" inspired me to write my first musical, based on the music and story of of the album.

I feel in love with Jukebox the Ghost while watching them open for Ben Folds and seeing Ben's crazy eyes! Last time I saw Ben Folds, I saw an okay piano songwriter and a rap group open for him. Needless to say, it was disappointing. Jukebox the Ghost totally blew me away! I bought their CD that night and had all three of them sign it.

Plus, I have a well-loved record player that is dying for some new material!

Because vinyl is the best. First heard Ben Thornewill this last winter, solo in a little coffee shop in Frankfort, Kentucky and have had to track down JtG and such ever since.

at one of their shows in New Haven they signed my arm. Unfortunately the ink faded after a day or two. I want/need something that will last forever. Most of my days i get sucked into the music so bad, i can't get away from it. it's only one album and i never get sick of it!

plus i seriously considered getting their autographs tattooed in.

Beacause my mom wouldn't let me buy their CD at a concert so I had to mooch it offa my friend. And when I finally did feast my ears upon it's wonderous sounds I was in love and played it nonstop. No really, NON STOP. It's in my stereo right now...

I saw them when they opened for Ben Folds in Indianapolis this year, and since then, I have been hooked! I have been telling EVERYONE about them and trying to increase their fan base. I am also going to try to go to their concert on June 5th in Indianapolis at the Vollrath. I have their CD on repeat in my car, and I love every second of it.

I should get one because I've been a fan of these boys from before their name was Jukebox the Ghost, when their best gigs were in a townhouse, but since I've been stuck in Japan the last two years, I've been unable to enjoy their amazingness except through YouTube and internet radio sessions at 2 in the morning Japan time. Vinyl would help ease the frustration.

Because my wall is covered in nothing but their lyrics. And I actually have a record player; this won't go to waste whatsoever.

Ok, so its kind of a long story. Here goes, my girlfriend is currently in Rwanda working for UNICEF. Rwanda's in Africa- which is much further than SE DC, at least from my house.

She's been gone 5 weeks. Before she left, I made her a mix entitled, "reasons why you should come back home" which I sent with her. JtG had about 3 tracks on the mix, all of which she loved. Thanks guys!!

So, being that I'm currently lonely, girlfriend-less, and broke, BYT could give me a nice Saturday evening out (with real live people) and a vinyl record to present to my gf upon her stateside return next Friday. Thumbs up!

Not to mention... I have a dog named Remington. He's a Jack Russell Terrier.

It's strange to enjoy the opening band more than the headliner. Sorry, Ben Folds. I fell in love the night of that concert, and proceeded to become obsessively addicted to their album. I couldn't listen to anything else for the first month even when I tried - I just wanted more JTG! I've since gotten my hands on everything they've ever done (aside from these vinyls!). I already bought tickets to their upcoming shows in Philly and NYC but I would even be up for a drive to D.C as well. I can't wait to hear every new track they ever write, and I can't wait to have them rock my face off live next week. Winning these will simply ice my cake and revive my record players soul.

I should win because I have a mad mad crush on the lead singer and love watching him spread his legs to play piano. That is on the vinyl, right?

Because my fiancee and I are postponing our honeymoon a day just to see Jukebox in concert!

You mean Eddie. But you can't have him. He belongs to an admiral of the US Navy.

because I've seen all their concerts in their hometown of D.C. and their music has changed my life.

Because I sweated my balls off at their show on Saturday night. Also, I'm building my own record player out of fishing line and pantyhose just to play this record.

Because I just got a record player and I once helped Jukebox the Ghost carry their instruments and equipment back to their dorm.

Back at the dawn of time a wise man once said, "Mike, you deserve this JBTG vinyl" Mike, a beautiful young squire, responded smartly, "Yes wise man, Yes I do."

I should get it because i love JTG and i adore Jenny Owen Youngs and i live in a shite place where there is virtually no chance of getting the vinil (well, except for the internet but that option kinda sucks as well).
