This Sat it's the return of the Blisspop dance party/concert series @ 9:30 Club with guest DJ Tittsworth, the bands Codebreaker and Metropolitan, and resident DJ Will Eastman. We have two pairs of tickets to giveaway, just comment with a song request for the DJ's below.
Oh, and if you don't win, it's only $10 (and will probably be the last $10 show at 9:30 Club ever), so get it while it's cheap.

Punks Jump Up - Dance To Our Disco
Haha, good to see I'm not the only one that Lily sends an entire setlist worth of requests to.
Will and I met when I handed him a full page of song requests written on the back of some other band's flyer... in 2001, at the Metro Cafe.
/feels old
Lily's set looks pretty decent - especially the 'Mats closer!
Planning on going no matter what.
Open with Seventeen Years - Ratatat
Keep it going with Time to Pretend - MGMT and Do Not Break - Apparat & Ellen Allien
Close with Some Velvet Morning - Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra
I've had that MGMT track on pretty heavy repeat lately. Good stuff. (N.B. not that I'm selecting the tix winner here. That's BYT's call.) Lily, are you sure you're not a DJ?
"Will and I met when I handed him a full page of song requests written on the back of some other band’s flyer"
And she's been giving me orders ever since!
coming from you, Will, awesome
i wish i had the talent to be a DJ
but i only have enough music to call my favorites
so it'd be a night catering only to me and any requests would have to coincide with stuff i love
not too fun i'm afraid
plus what would be a good DJ name?
DJ Leelee (the Persian way to say my name)?
haha
I wanna hear 'Self Service' by Studio!
Or Breakwater's "Release the Beast"!
Jim Jones - We Fly High
Sadly, I cannot be there to rock the party, but in my honor could you please play any or all of the following:
Yelle- A Cause des Garcons
Fatal Bazooka- J'aime Trop Ton Boule (and somehow play the video in the background...)
Roll Deep & Ruff Sqwad- Sidewinder
Dj Class- Tear Da Club Up
Roxy Cottontail- Oxy's Anthem
Bonde Do Tigrao- O Baile Todo
Bonde Do Role- Danca Do Zumbi
I second New Order- Crystal
The Cars- Drive
Clipse- Ego
Dead Prez- Hip-Hop
Bounty Killer- Drop Bullet
Bone Crusher- Hey F!ck Boy
And go out with M.I.A.- Paper Planes WITH THE GUN SHOTS! MAN WTF!?
Anwho, tear it up d00d...
Junior Senior, for good measure too
especially Move Your Feet
definitely got the crowd going last time Will spun it
and feel free to throw in:
You Promised Me (Tu Es Foutu) - In-Grid
Sunrise (Jason Nevins remix) - Duran Duran
(or any good remix of that song)
yes, i own the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy soundtrack
what about the fantastical britpop catchy beat that is
Hot Chip - Over and Over
kind of reminds me of Mr Oizo - Flat Beat (you remember the yellow thing from the levis ads)
oooh and a close second with an equally catchy beat....
The Rapture - Whoo! Alright Yeah...Uh Huh!
soulja boy tell 'em--crank dat (soulja boy)
i wanna hear dave nada's "fat bottom" track
You folks have good taste in music. BYT has its work cut out selecting just one.
Hahahaha.
I pulled "Unsatisfied" and it nearly brought a tear to my eye. But, Lily, sorry, that In-Grid track is laaaaaame!
That Breakwater track is always surreal when the vocals kick in and the crowd realizes it isn't Daft Punk. They used such a long and faithful sample. People usually presume it's just a smash up.
I'm saving Dave's Queen remix for big Titties. Place should explode.
"To the End" - Blur
I go for girls lilting in French every time.
i could really dig some Crystal Castles, nothin like some Alice Practice to get my adrenalin flowing.
and if you do something, anything, with Interpol, i will shake your hand after the show
I haven't heard The Avalanches in a while, namely "Frontier Psychiatrist."
Also, "Teenage Daughter."
nice
i just want a mixed transition on the In-Grid song, where she goes "do,do" with the beat
Every time I play Frontier Psychiatrist it doesn't get the reaction I'd expect.
nice poster
Matthew Dear - "Deserter"
That Matt Dear track is divine. Maybe the best Stephen Merritt song from 2007?
Holly Tegeler is responsible for that poster and she is awesome.
I just saw the war propaganda exhibit at SAAM; they ought to do a contemporary music poster exhibit -- and include Holly's work.
I second districtross' Hot Chip. btw, Matt Dear and Hot Chip are touring the UK together in February. I would love to see that combo here.
Thanks for the praise on the flier design. You can check out more of my poster/flier work on Gigposters.com: http://www.gigposters.com/designer/70965_Holly_Tegeler.html
are the tickets still up for grabs?
"Beeper," Sinden & The Count of Monte Cristo (herve)
...and the sneeze song
http://video.aol.com/video-detail/miss-athe-sneeze-songdj-ron-rico/3856803406
"no pussy blues" -- grinderman
Nick Cave is still bad ass.
Even if I don't get the tickets, I'm putting a last minute request in, dammit!
Escort - Starlight
